Since its formation, Depeche Mode has undertaken several tours and events, including A Broken Frame tour (1983) and 1985-6’s Black Celebration world tour (which took place in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia.
In 1988 the 101 Tour launched with several dates throughout the UK, Ireland and Italy. This coincided with the release of compilation album 101. The band finished its 1989-90 world tour with the biggest show of their career. Present during the show in Rio de Janeiro was more than 180,000 fans.
